What's everyone reading at the moment?

I just finished Kazuo Ishiguro's "Never Let Me Go", and it's left me feeling absolutely fucking desolate... uh so can someone recommend a slightly happier book? (not too happy though; after having read that, I'll probably end up throwing anything too upbeat out of the window in disgust!)

A few days ago the bank paid me some money they owed me (how many times do you get to say that in a lifetime!) so I gots me some Grouper (Dragging a Dead Deer up a Hill), The Soul's Release's record, both recommended, and also some Bon Iver, because of the covers thread. All really good stuff.

hey..
funny you should say that....whilst recording the album we've been talking with our producer Corin (also head of Dont Touch Records) who has an idea which is similar to what you've suggested...ie online collaborations with fans, other bands etc....hence us working on an Alpha track (Corin's band)...you'll see a video clip of us working on this later this week....The idea is at early stages at the moment but should gain momentum once we have finished recording the second album. Will keep you posted.

A new Video has been added to the main front page of blueneck.com - ive not seen which one it is yet but im led to beleive its the band playing on a new track for Alpha...i could be wrong mind.

we'll be playing around with some covers ideas next week and filming some of that so expect those vids up by the end of next week.

Whilst watching Back to the Future at the Glastonbury festival cinema field i remembered how good the soundtrack to that was!!! cant beat a bit of Huey Lewis ;-)

Me and Ben took in a Cult of Luna show last night, first time ive seen them for about a year when we last played with them...theyre still as awesome as always....the new material from the latest album was great and has inspired me to listen more attentively to the album today.
Theyre gonna be touring for a while in various countries...if you get the chance you should really try and see these guys. quite honestly my favourite live band.

It's sort of a revolutionary way to explore the internet. You download stumbleupon's addon to your web browser and set your preferences to your very specific interests (ie. various genres of music, audio hardware, digital art, ECT) and every time you click the stumble button on your browsers add on, it automatically takes you to a random web site or page pertaining to you interest. I highly recommend it. To be honest, I believe it's how I came across blueneck.

It's pretty difficult to say really... Dunk might have a better answer, but you could say some comes from film & tv... and sometimes songs just evolve naturally between us...
